Betadine Solution 120 ml:
Betadine Solution The active substance is iodine povidone.
 
1 ml contains 100 mg iodine povidone. The other ingredients are: glycerol, nonoxynol 9, anhydrous citric acid, anhydrous disodium phosphate, sodium hydroxide (10% solution), purified water.
 
Therapeutic indications:
Povidone iodine Betadine solution containing skin which is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent, acting against bacteria, viruses, fungi and protozoa (single-celled organisms).
 
Betadine solution 120 ml is used in:
- disinfect the skin before injections, transfusions, infusions, collection of blood samples, punctures, biopsies;
- Preoperative disinfection of the skin and mucous membranes (partial or total preoperative baths);
- aseptic wounds, including skin burns;
- adjuvant in bacterial and fungal skin infections;
- ophthalmic, preoperative interventions, under Betadine diluted solution.
 
contraindications:
Do not use skin Betadine solution - are allergic (hypersensitive) to povidone iodine, or any of the other components of Betadine; - you have hyperthyroidism or other thyroid disorders (rapid heart beat, restlessness) before and after radioactive iodine treatment; - you have Duhring herpetiform dermatitis; - before and after treatment with radioactive iodine in hyperthyroidism. - in newborns and infants with pancreatic age 6 months (only if absolutely necessary, and monitoring of thyroid function is recommended).
 
Dosages and Usage:
 
Betadine cutaneous solution is applied either as such or in diluted form. Betadine solution is not diluted with hot water but with water at body temperature. The solution is not indicated for oral administration.
 
For pre-operative skin disinfection, the solution should be removed from the operator's field (risk of skin irritation).
 
Dosage Apply undiluted Betadine skin solution for intact skin disinfection before injections, transfusions, infusions, blood sampling, punctures, biopsies, as disinfecting wounds or burns: skin solution can be utilizatade several times a day.
 
The use of skin disinfection hand Betadine solution is as follows: - The usual disinfection mainilor- 2 x 3 ml of undiluted solution is left in contact for 30 seconds; - pre-operative disinfection of hands - 2 x 5 ml undiluted solution left in contact for 5 minutes. For disinfection of the skin use the undiluted solution and let panic dry contact.
